[Congrats Lizzie, you're the first person Wan has ever called over the phone. As such, you get a lot of microphone static as he fumbles between putting it to his ear, then pull it away to speak, then put it back to listen in. He has not quite got the hang of just holding it in one place yet.
But, in his defense, he'd never seen a cell phone before two days ago.]
Hello? Lizzie? Are you there? Hello? I wanted to tell you I found a garden.
[A pause to listen.]
If you can hear me, you should know we'll be able to start our own garden in a couple days. I just have to harvest some clippings from the other one I found. The woman tending it said we could.
[Lizzie, on the other hand, is an old pro at cell phones. She'd never had one of her own before, but her parents each had, and she'd used both of theirs before everything went to hell.]
[A soft intake of excited breath could be heard from Wan before he respond with a clearly energetic tone, though his words were hushed like he was trying to keep his voice from being too loud.]
A tea garden! There's not a large variety, but they have enough for five or six different plants we can make teas from. If we can find space for them and they take to the new soil. We might not be able to grow sunflowers. Those are really big.
The garden I found is already growing some, so we should be able to get some other plant clippings. It will have to be separate from the tea garden. And it will probably have to be small for a while, but yeah. We can grow food.
Then they aren't here. Everyone that's been brought by the people that brought us, the Yao Corporation, they have their painting in the phone. I'm sorry.
