[He wrapped his arms around her loosely, interlocking his fingers as he shut his eyes and focused on the air. Without his hands free to direct the element, it took him a lot more energy and concentration to get the cloud to form. It took a moment before the two of them were lifted off the floor, drifting to one side and then spinning lazily as the air thickened beneath them. It was almost like the two of them were feathers floating across the room as they started drifting higher.
Since she wanted to fly, Wan took her high enough that she could touch the ceiling if she wanted to.]
[And she does reach out and touch the ceiling, hesitantly, almost like she can't believe it's possible. She's seen a lot of amazing things since coming here, but she hasn't done anything amazing. And this is definitely amazing.]
[He grinned, watching her face light up as she reached out to touch the ceiling.]
If it wasn't there, I could go higher than the clouds. But it gets cold when you get that high. And the air isn't as strong either so it's harder to keep the cloud intact.
[Wan laughed and dropped them safely back to the floor, the cloud dissipating.]
Okay. Time for the cans. I only have the two, but it should be enough for at least one meal a day. But that's two more days you don't have to worry about going outside while the fog clears.
[If he had felt it safe to go to the library in North Haven right then, he would have taken her. So he made a promise to do so in the future:]
When the fog clears and things seem safe enough, I'll take you to Haven North. Since we can't go there right now, how about we tell each other stories. Whatever kind of stories you like.

[Wan frowned and then dropped to the floor in a smooth motion to sit cross legged.]
Sit on my lap for this. The ceiling isn't that tall and it'll be easier to get more height for both of us if we're sitting.

[She sits down on his lap, pulling her knees up to her chest.]

[Opened his backpack and took out the cans, handing them to her. He was assuming she had a way to open them. A knife if nothing else.]

[He shrugged, putting his backpack on and idly stepping backwards toward the door.]
My only plan is to be back in my building by nightfall. Which is at least three hours from now. Maybe four.

[He jumped over the back of the couch so he could sit on it, his legs folded up under him and his body leaning forward toward her with a grin.]
